Well Matt, you seem to have it in for me...

This was definately a suck post. But apparently there was some good discussion going on. Just as I was about to complement it with one of my greatest rants ever, which I rarely do, the thing was deleted. I want back my 20 seconds of fast and furious typing.

Uh. What the shit is this?

Fair enough, you're the boss. But I thought this was an angle on the Katrina story that would benefit from productive comment. Op/Ed (as far as the source) indeed, but reflective of American society, right now. But whatever.

No, I was going to say "whatever" but that's such an easy passive/aggressive thing a not-passionately-committed-to-ideas-hipster would say. I correct myself: okay.

Oh, see? Suck post, but worthy of furious comment. Whatever.

(No!...uh)

Okay! It was a suck post--I acknowleged it in the post. It was a pancakes post. But I thought the idea was worthy of discussion.

If you know it's a suck post, don't make it. Or try Metachat. Or don't.

Instead of posting it, you could have spent the time playing Every Extend. It takes the edge off.

The post sucked. The discussion sucked. Nothing was being said that hasn't already been said in other threads by the same members.

Turtles; Hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't mean to offend. The post was a double or triple (in comments on other posts). Also, it was a single link to an op-ed. Therefore the suck. YOU and your IDEA to post it DON'T suck. Care to read my further comments? Oh, wait, they were deleted. So goes the show.
Godspeed to our friends in the South and Eff Ben Stien.

but reflective of American society, right now.

You mean there's a segment of society which doesn't pin every aspect of the disaster on Bush?

Bush won both elections by roughly 50% and a fraction -- why is it suprising many people see the world as he does? And why is that interesting enough for an FPP?

Not picking on you, Turtles, but Ben Stein having a Ben Stein-ish opinion on something isn't too earth-shattering.

Ahh...okay, all, I was being lazy! But I got some very interesting opinions for a while. Well there we are.

(and, regretfully, fuck Ben Stein).

A hell of a lot of crap is being tolerated around here at the moment. Just because other people are getting away with post-after-post of inane media analysis, conspiracy theories and heartwrenching human interest pieces doesn't mean you should join in, Turtles. Go find us a cute Flash game instead and I will be forever grapefruit to you.

If you know it's a suck post, don't make it, and don't exacerbate the suckiness by talking about your suck post on MetaTalk. There are lots of things that will generate good discussion and a much smaller subset of those things that are actually links to good stuff on the web.

Matt or Jess, could you please close this thread?

you just should have posted it in an existing thread, Turtles--no biggie.

I would have left it, and there are so many others that could go if this does, but in this hectic Katrina environment, I am glad I am not Matt.
