i wanted to flag the post (and the resulting comments) as fantastic, but was redirected to the flag page minus the submit button with the following error after the "Sending you back to the thread Yaddda Yadda" notice:

Post ID & Site ID are showing in the URL, so I don't want to flag posts willy-nilly just to replicate the error for other posts/comments lest it flood the database(server/code/whatever) inappropriately/signify Matt is tinkering with the sites/send Matt lots of annoying messages during diaper duty/etc. but the error hasn't disappeared in the time it's taken to compose this post sans spellcheck, while under the influence of .75 bottles 0f primitivo & futzing about on my first self-built computer

Huh. I flagged a bunch of stuff in that thread [post and some comments] just to practice and I didn't see anything wrong. If you want to try some more experimentation, it's easy to remove your flags after the fact.

I'm glad this "callout" was made; I didn't see that (great) post until this post happened.

So, in a way, mission accomplished. Thanks.

Weird. No error message here on my work computer, but the error continues on the home computer, regardless of browser. Wonder if the fantastically crappy modem Italia telecom provided me with is screwing with the POST headers.

Thanks anyhow.

I thank you, too, romakimmy. The post is good, but the comments are what the old MeFi love is all about. Very, very nice.

For future reference: looks like Kerio's Personal Firewall was the culprit. I had installed it as a stop-gap measure until I can afford the WiFi Router/Firewall I want, and not being very familiar with the software, it was screwing with about 50% of the websites I surfed (gmail included).
