This information may be up here somewhere but I've yet to find it:

What's the lurker/poster/commentator percentages, like, is there a pie chart somewhere?

How many people who sign up eventually lapse/disappear from MeFi or never ever post a link or comment ?

Who are the top ten/twenty posters?

What percentage of total overall posts are by the aforementioned?

Is MiguelCardoso an android ala the Buster Friendly Show in Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? Does he ever sleep?

Re: the CNN comment--I came here post 9/11, not via Brill's Comment and I do use MeFi to check breaking news. But then I don't know shit from poop web-wise...

But the non-news posts are what made me sign up.
fave posters : anyone who posts stuff that is interesting even if there were no commentary for their links. anyone who is level headed (unlike myself?). anyone who visits #mefi at 9pm central time. and, of course, wet wednesday.
1)Yes and 2)No. But, touché y2karl and all you others. Forgive me. I've learnt my lessons; flushed my amphetamines; gone back to my wife and children; learnt the virtue of paucity and the sin of spelling everything out.

So much so that I am just going to preview this comment - but not post. If it does appear, it must be some problem with my server.
y2karl, waxpancake maintains a thread-membership matrix chart. It has top 20 posts in a thread, membership sign up and threads posted to the front page. Perigee once did an active membership analysis focusing on newbies vs. oldies.

If anyone is coding up a script, I'd like to see a contribution index. This would be an index to see how frequently any member posts anything, comments or posts, to either MeTa or MeFi. The formula would be (MeFi Posts + MeFi Comments + MeTa Posts + MeTa Comments)/Number of days in membership.
