Why does my username appear as it does?

My username is PenguinBukkake, capital "P" capital "B". But my comment box, in Safari, reads,

Posting as: penguinBukkake (logout)

If the answer's too obvious, please forgive my ignorance in all things tech-related. I just thought it was weird. Happy holidays all, by the way.

same with me. I seem to post as Frasermoo but my username is frasermoo... or vice versa...

Try logging out and logging back in using correct case during your login.

Yeah, I think geekyguy's right. It matters in some places (but not all) how you typed the name when you logged in.

Well at least your name doesn't end in 's', or you end up with something like

edgeways's Profile

on your profile page. Looks as if anyone with a name ending in 's' has this special S feature attached.
