Googlebombs on the front page?

I appreciate the sentiment, but it doesn't seem particularly appropriate to me.

Yeah, the post should stand (although it's crappy), but an admin should prune the last sentence.
posted by Falconetti at 5:21 PM on March 19, 2006

Last sentence pruned. Childish indeed.

Mefi probably shouldn't boost their pagerank.

What did it say before? The post is weak enough to be deleted on its own [lack of] merit anyhow, imho.

For those late to the post, it originally concluded a sentence with the words "childish" and "immature," both linked to Kinderstart.

Indeed.

I guess they teach that at the livejournalism school, too.

seriously though, how many times have this guy's posts been in MeTa in the last few weeks?

Steady, jess. Steady.

insomnialj is definitely on the Top 5 MeFi Users To Be Packed Onto The Rocketship To Be Flown Into The Sun list.

c'mon guys. those were summary marks, and their used in real journalism all the time.
posted by shmegegge at 6:26 PM on March 19, 2006

they're used.

The thing is, Insomnia is only a little bit worse than a number of similar posters who are forever grinding their axes on a certain few topics and using the front page as their soapbox. I suspect a lot of the fury vented at him is spill over frustration at a certain type of poster that her represents.
posted by LarryC at 6:36 PM on March 19, 2006

shmegegge: I thought you're post stood on its own without the edit.

I take it that the added expense of flying people into the sun is worth it because we won't have to deal with their body thetans on Earth?

insomnia_lj is a valuable member of the community, in my humble. But he does tend to be unrepentant about his excesses (in the eyes of many).

boo_radley: it's meaning was in fact clear but its good to know that shmegegge is not completely illiterate.

I suppose the resentment against axe-grinders explains why that shit-oriented link I posted a while back received such acclaim: it wasn't partisan.

We need more non-partisan linking.

More non-partisan Shit posts!

Less... well, partisan shit posts, I guess.

No, he's quite a bit worse. I think it has something to do with his giant ego. I could be wrong.

Time to go dig up some booger-mining links. That'll make a wonderful, non-partisan FPP.
posted by five fresh fish at 12:33 AM on March 20, 2006

Please don't post about booger mining. Everyone will want to horn in on the act.

Then the bottom of the market will drop out and I'll starve to death.

And, no, despite urban legend, boogers simply aren't good eating.

At Snot-Eaze, we serve only the finest, imported boogers.

The post is about an FPP-worthy topic.

scarabic: yes, I was sort of replying in kind. By using a misspelling mys.. oh, never mind. :/

Every time someone bitches that Matt cuts dios too much slack because dios is one of MeFi's rare endangered conservatives or whatever, I feel like pointing out that insomnia_lj gets away with shit that dios would be crucified for.

At least dios has a sense of humour, you know?
