Rambling drunken but sincere praise May 27, 2006 12:27 AM   Subscribe

All I'm saying is that sometimes people don't always know exatly how they'd like to express themselves. AXMETATILTER RULES ALL THE OTHER BITCHES! jesadmin is AWESOME and LAME at the same time. I love her contribution, but I do agree that the CHATFILTER has been kind of out of control. I'm drunk, and I want to fight. Seriously, though, I don;t have any problem with anone. I agree that the pruning has been inconsistent. I love you. this is a good link to explain it all. YEAH. My boy browner is the best. Anyway, the point of this post is that Metafilter has become bittersweet. Thoughts?

"Thoughts?"
Too much typing, not enough alcohol.

no no no ... It's for real. What do you think? I'm not drunk.

As your lawyer I suggest you start drinking. "Right now" and "profusely" I'd say.

But you said you were drunk. There was something about pruning in there too. It's good to get out of the water when you start pruning.

Aww, c'mon man. I'm drunk, I'm sure plenty of us are drunk, but no one else feels the need to poo all over MetaTalk.

Which cat is an excercise left up to the reader.

dodgygeezer. OMG. I want you so bad.

That tranparent PNG just made me laugh way too much for such a simple - but damn effective joke.

What are the possible side effects of zolpidem?
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking zolpidem and seek emergency medical attention:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; hives); or
· hallucinations, abnormal behavior, or severe confusion.
• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take zolpidem and talk to your doctor if you experience
· headache, drowsiness, dizziness, or clumsiness;
· nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation;
· depression;
· muscle aches or pains;
· vivid or abnormal dreams; or
· amnesia (memory loss) after a dose.
• A problem that may occur when sleep medicines are stopped is known as "rebound insomnia." This means that a person may have more trouble sleeping the first few nights after the medicine is stopped than before starting the medicine. If you should experience rebound insomnia, do not get discouraged. This problem usually goes away on its own after 1 or 2 nights
• Zolpidem is habit forming. Stopping this medication suddenly can cause withdrawal effects if you have taken it continuously for several weeks. Talk to your doctor about the safe use of this medication.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Chatfilter: What drug are you out of your tree on at the moment?

Me - nothing, and this thread has made me very, very jealous.

You know that part in Fight Club where the Brad Pitt character/personality splices all the one-frame hard-ons into the movie and all the teenage girls watching it start to cry and they don't know why? This thread makes me feel a little like that.

I don't remember the teenage girl crying part. You'd think I'd remember that. I do like jesadmin jessadmyn, though.

I'd be interested to know the history of ceiling cat. Wikipedia user Samguana claims to be the owner of the cat and the creator (or owner, at least) of the photo. Not much available info on him on his userpage, though. The domain ceilingcat.com was created on Feb. 10 which predates any references I find on my imperfect Googling. Sadly, Google images doesn't return a single example of ceiling cat for "ceiling cat". That'll probably change soon. The first Google mention of ceiling cat I can find was a Feb. 23 post to a LJ page.

I agree with loquacious that the transparent png version above is pretty sweet.

Is the flying saucer version indigenous to mefi?

Why is this thread still here? I don't want to sound like a grump, and god knows I love a good bout of MetaSilly as much as anyone, but there's been way, way too much noise in MeTa lately, and I'm starting to get the feeling people think it's OK to just post whatever pops into their heads. TurkishGolds, I don't care whether you're drunk or not, you're being a jerk. Please go away.
posted by languagehat at 6:41 AM on May 27, 2006

It'd be two consecutive MeTa deletions. Kind of tautologically proving your point.
posted by Ethereal Bligh at 6:47 AM on May 27, 2006

If the admins delete this, can we try for 24 hours of no MeTa again?

Language Hat, you're such an obtusely cromulent pedant. I find your lack of cultural sensitivity to be boorish and unseemly.

For penance I demand that you balance this small and lavishly decorated cupcake atop your head and sing the "I'm a little teapot" song, complete with the little dance that goes with it. Yeah, even the handle and spout part. That part is the best.

However, if you drop the cupcake you have to eat it. No, that's not bat guano on the floor, those aren't even bats. They're, um, Fancy European Pigeons.

Yeah, it is kind of slippery in here. I'd be careful.

Jack: Nobody knows that they saw it, but they did.
Tyler: A nice, big, cock.
(shot of girl crying, little boy turning to look awkwardly at his mother)
Jack: Even a hummingbird couldn't catch Tyler at work.

They're, um, Fancy European Pigeons

Heh. After your sixth apartment in five years you actually become used to calling your rats "Norwegian Gerbils" when the admin for the complex asks if you have pets.
