So the call has been issued for a meetup in Cambridge, formal-hall style. Next Tuesday, June 13th, St. John's formal hall. For those Uk Mefites who have never visited Oxbridge or been to a formal hall, this is your chance. I have procured a number of tickets, but if people could RSVP by Sunday I'll be able to get everything in order. We shall meet at 7:00 in the St. John's college bar and proceed to hall. If people are travelling from London or elsewhere and would like to crash in Cambridge for the night, that can be arranged. Most pretentious meetup evar.

= formal hell. No, I jest. It's posh dinner (dress: smart, food: good) in a Cambridge college dining room. They are good fun if alcoholic.

Formal at John's looks something like this. I'm very much looking forward to pictures of all you gown-wearing MeFites (I can't make I'm afraid - exams).

Pro: I was a Cambridge boy in my youth, so a formal hall does appeal. I would also like to put names to faces.

Anti: I live in Brighton. I have parental responsibilities, though not impossible to get out of. I would miss Brazil/Croatia AND South Korea/Togo.

OK, maybe the last match counts as more of a pro. I'll have to think about it.

So... any interest from anyone or should I look forward to watching midfield wizard $TOGOLESE_FOOTBALLER jinking past the sturdy defence of $SOUTHKOREAN_FOOTBALLER?
