MuFi Madness July 1, 2006 9:39 AM   Subscribe

I too have been taken with MuFi Madness™. I excitedly went to showcase my band's work, and- Oh! the horror! I was presented with an error on upload:
The MIME type of the uploaded file "audio/x-mpeg" was not accepted by the server.
I use Audacity for my mp3 encoding, and am at my wits' end. Is there a way to rebrand a file's MIME type, or convert it? I'm quite eager to get in on the action, but need your help. Thanks, fellow citizens.

I used the term MuFi. Feel free to substitute that with whaterver name suits you.

askmefi seems to be a better destination for this post

And like a moron, didn't put this in the active thread. Matt, feel free to move this, or remove it, and i'll relocate it myself.

I thought it might have been good there, but if other users are having the same problem with uploading, then it's technically a Metafilter Music issue.

Actually, this is a mefi-related question so it's fine here.

Lemme add x-mpeg as well and see if that works.
