The summer ain't over... Maybe he hasn't pulled it off yet. I too wanted an update. (Maxpower's profile used to say he lived near me, sadly he must have moved near the Fortresses of Solitude)

Mathowie, thanks for the tip off. Of course thwarting a secret cabal of family members isn't often talked about in public. There is so much I'd like to say, but then.... they'd find me. I'm glad there was so much interest in the question, I had been reading metafilter for a couple months and finally decided to join (via secure and untraceable financial back channels) to ask that question. The results were well worth it.

First let me say that the response to the question was overwhelming and that secondly, being an agent for an unnamed government agency isn't as cut and dry as in movies and books.

The event in question was my own wedding. I, being the groom, maintained a certain sense of decorum about the whole thing. Being the debonair super spy that I am, I chose to forgo the grand entrance discussed in AskMeFi in favour of letting my lovely bride steal the show with her entrance. To be truthful, I wanted everyone talking about her entrance down onto the beach and not mine... this time.

That all said, I learned a tremendous amount of tactics and maneuvers that I will employ in the future (read: first anniversary party) at the many events that I'm sure will continue to happen on the shores of Lake Huron (cabal HQ). Mark my words, I will arrive at a party via the lake in a tux -- its on my list.
