Can I have a pony? Favorites are a great way of finding worthwhile threads selected by the masses, but I would be even more interested in knowing which threads or comments their authors are most proud of, especially among people with a long history here on MeFi, and especially before the favorites feature was implemented. Any way of having a "my best post" feature, or even just to ask that question as a standard part of the profile? Failing that, people can just list their favorites themselves in this thread...

And, realistically, checking a user's profile for any self-motivated mention of what they've been up to is your likely best bet. Also, this thread could get unwieldy pretty quick if folks actually took you up on this.

My most favorite comment (actually, a series of comments on the same theme) were in a metatalk thread that got deleted. They were in response to some guy sharing his euphoria about attending Burning Man, and he inexplicably started a metatalk thread about it. So, unless you read them and remember, they'll be my secret pleasure, to cherish in my old age.

As for my favorite post, I think I got the best response for the one I made about Samorost, the story of a man and his hole. But as far as the most interestingly crafted front page post, I'll go with this one.

As for the one I'm most ashamed of, it would have to be this one, in which Evanizer rightfully put me in my place.

As a newbie to mefi and as a resident on an island that is the last place to see the end of a day, I am not usually in the middle of mefi conversations. So ... I was quite surprised to be the first to catch Stephen Colbert on C-span (White House Dinner) ... the response amazed me. I don't think I will top that (even if I did spell 'Stephen' wrong -- and forgot tags).
