NYC Mefites, a proposal: those of us who aren't going to Vegas for the Jonmc-Pips nuptials might welcome the happy couple back with a toast. Say, next Wednesday (9/27)?

Also, the DoubleDown Saloon on Ave A just above Houston is my new favorite bar. They have a stupendous jukebox and they serve drinks containing pork products.

Yes, they do. I had one. It was tasty. They also will make you a Bacon Bloody Mary.

yeah, I guess it is. I stuck with the martini, myself. It's garnished with a slim jim. The guy next to me had the bacon bloody. He seemed to enjoy it, but he was so drunk he probably could've drank Lestoil and said, 'that's real lemony, dude.'

it was a mixture of several fruity liquors, that when mixed was brown colored. Looked terrible, but tasted ok.

I don't mean to hijack or derail, but this seems as appropriate a place as any... I won't be able to make it to this Wednesday thingy, as I am leaving your fine city forever on the 24th.

For a variety of reasons I will be drinking heavily throughout the weekend, and would be willing and eager to provide free drinks to any who might wish to accompany me uring any portion of the debacle.
