I should have gone, but I decided to have a quiet dinner with my family instead of braving the crowds at the event.

- read on your del.icio.us links that you'd be there [the internets lied to me!!1!]
- emailed John to see if he'd do me a favor
- he wrote back saying "sure" and that he likes MetaFilter but I'd have to get a sign to him in advance & remind him
- called Powells to figure out how to do that
- made a sign & faxed it to Powells
- emailed a reminder
- waited... waited ... waited.
