Black Book Art Circle October 31, 2006 12:13 PM   Subscribe

Previous Black Book Art Circle post. The new 8 books are going out to: riotgrrl69, dersins, ThePinkSuperhero, robert angelo, david coulter (didn't give his username), nanojath, routergirl! Note that is only 7, because I promised one to klangklangston but he has not given me his mailing address (HINT).

Previous books went to brundlefly, jessamyn, cortex, dobbs, and bardic. If you are none of of these people or the new recipients, and want to participate, please say so and maybe someone will be kind enough to make you their next recipient!

someone IM me [yes, IM. no, not email] if you want one and I'll put mine in the mail to you tomorrow.

An aside to this....one year from now it will be harder for me to get these books at my current address (harder, not impossible). Speedily moving them along is a bonus :) Hopefully people will email me along the way, as per the instructions, so I can provide updates on that.

Maybe do this as a group email since it's only like a dozen members involved? It seems odd on MetaTalk for something really specific AND WITH SO MUCH BOLD PROMISING MUCH BUT DELIVERING LITTLE TO THE REST OF THE MEMBERSHIP.

Sorry mathowie, but I really was trying to get other members to contact the current recipients. I was overwhelmed with the interest in the previous post.

I agree I went over the top with the bold though. :(

I need a new project like I need a hole in the head...which is to say, please consider sending a book my way. Could not send IM to jessamyn (Issue is totally on my end though).

I have passed mine on to dersins, with orders to "keep it in the family".

Cool.

Whoops. I'm David Coulter--feel free to email me if you want the book next.

Jessamyn has much patience. Apparently I can IM without knowing it. A book should be headed my way. I guess the first person who emails me with interest will get that particular book when I'm done (if that's how this works).

I have passed mine on to safetyfork.

Perhaps a small page/site somewhere tracking the current holders and potential recipients!
posted by cortex at 2:02 PM on October 31, 2006

yeah KS70, this is a big enough project that it would be cool to have a Where's George type of tracker page just so people know where their books went and who, if anyone, dropped the ball on passing them on.

safetyfork's book is coming to me (in Korea!) next — who wants is after?

Jesus Christ, what an asshole.

That said, I'm waiting to get the book back from a friend and would be happy to send it to another mefite.

Good thought jessamyn.

Here is a frapper map that people should be able to add to: http://www.frappr.com/bbacp

I'll have safetyfork's book after you, brittanie, if it's available.

Note, if you do use the map link above, at least give your mefi username and maybe who you passed the book onto or got it from. I'll keep deleting people who add pins with no info.

No need to send one to me. Cortex passed his on to me...

Anyone want to send a book my way?

echo0720: email me your address and you can have the one I was going to send dersins. (do so ASAP pls - it's in my profile page)

I still haven't received mine, actually...
posted by brundlefly at 5:45 PM on October 31, 2006

Really? All were sent out at the same time.

If klangklangston doesn't get back to me, I can send another one to you...weird though. I wonder if everyone else got theirs. Jessamyn got hers pretty quick.

email me if you want mine.

I would adore a book, if someone has one free. Make with the email, and I will for added bonus coolness, send a black book of my very own to someone else, thus starting a new book.
posted by scrump at 9:23 PM on October 31, 2006

If the book does end up down under at some stage, swing it my way?
posted by cholly at 11:31 PM on October 31, 2006

I'll one-up scrump and send my next-in-line something cool from Korea. Although there isn't much cool in Korea except maybe stationary.

I got back to you I think. Your profile email, right?

I'd love a book at some point, too.

I think I'm on Brundlefly's list somewhere, but am very happy to accept any books mailed my way and to pass them on from there.
