Hey Matt, in the gifting spirit, how about a link to the give-a-mefi-membership gift option somewhere on the Blue? Did the "beta" period work out? If so, don't be shy. It's a great feature. I just used it. But I had to hunt and peck through the MeTa archives to find it :)

Hell, members are spared most of the ads on the site. I think it's cool to promote this one, even in a highly visible, graphical way. It's not just about making the feature findable to folks who know it exists. It's about making it visible to those who maybe haven't noticed it in all the MeTa discussions but might have a need for it. Burying it in the FAQ won't help a lot (although it's a good thing to have as a reference).

Promote it with some fanfare for a while and then consign it to the FAQ or footer, etc. But give it a day in the sun. Now's the time. Holidays, stateside, and all...

Cool, thanks for adding that link. I just want to do my part to assuage any qualms Matt might have about promoting it in more primary spaces. People are shameless about haranguing him over anything that might put money in his pocket, whether that is his primary motivation or not. IMHO he needs encouragement to put something like this in bold type on the Blue homepage.

yeah, I was going to add it to the nav when the bugs were worked out. Now that there's a status page and a resend link, I think everyone's had an ok time with it (just one person reported never getting any email from it).
