How long has MeFi been serving banner ads at the bottom of closed threads to logged-in users?

It's a recent change and it's a mistake. I have about a bazillion if/then/end-if loops around comments to determine if you're logged in, if it's still open, if it's deleted, and if it's archived. I was trying to add a text ad to the end of long archived threads for non-members, but for some reason it's basically sitting in the wrong if loop. I'll fix it up. posted by mathowie at 4:39 PM on January 31, 2007
Thanks. How about closing this thread? posted by Kwantsar at 4:40 PM on January 31, 2007
Now I want some cool clothes. posted by mr_crash_davis at 4:41 PM on January 31, 2007
But if you don't close the thread, I'll note that there seem to be two kinds of ads being served. One is text-ish, and the other is a dynamic-ish banner for
COOL CLOTHES
THAT MAKE PEOPLE
THINK
Which goes to a website that sells $35.00 socially conscious T-shirts. If I wanted to see that shit, I'd move to Brooklyn. posted by Kwantsar at 4:43 PM on January 31, 2007
Forget it, it's now fixed and removed for logged-in folks. posted by mathowie at 4:43 PM on January 31, 2007

It's google text ads with the a graphic ad option that people pay for certain sites. I agree the ad is kind of ugly. posted by mathowie at 4:44 PM on January 31, 2007
