Diggfilter February 11, 2007 4:38 PM   Subscribe

I made this post, then found out that the link is all over digg/reddit. Is there a policy against diggfilter?

If so, sorry for the single-link post that (I imagine) most of us have already seen.

Just like taking a link from boingboing, it's never stopped anyone before. Don't worry about it.

No, there's no policy against it, but I'm sure someone will whine about seeing it elsewhere. I hadn't seen it, so fuck these hypothetical haters. It's a good link.

Great post. That one, not this one.

Naw, that's fine. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

well, it's ALL been posted somewhere else if you think about it ... i never will understand why people object to it

It was a GOOD post of something that had not been posted HERE before and that is all that matters. I do not visit digg, boing boing or any of the other sites that shitheads like to mention in threads when they have already seen the link. The people that complain (if any do in this particular case) can go fuck themselves. In the ass. With a rusty fork.

It was a good post, people like it, I never read digg or reddit. It's fine, you're fine.

Yeah, the haters need to stop salivating on their own foreheads. Good post.

It's not clear that anyone actually complained in this case, though.

(And nothing wrong with assfucking, anyway.)

Not to mention, some of us still don't read Digg or Reddit, thus, it's 'new' info.

YOU JEWBURNING HITLER-SUCKLING FILTHWHORE!!

Err, I mean, nice post. Don't worry about it.

With a rusty fork.

So k5 factors into this too?

Needs more plushies.

Otherwise, fine post. (It's generally not a good idea to haul yourself into MetaTalk preemptively, but you seem to have gotten away with it... this time.)

Don't worry. We like it.

It's nicer when it's here first and there (where there is any number of sites) later, but whatever. Good link is good link, even if complusive timewasters like me have seen it everyelsewhere already.

I never read digg or reddit

there's no need to, it all gets recycled here

You seem to have misspelled "grandfather clocks", good sir.

You seem to have misspelled "kitty spanker", dear chap.

Unless they were edited out (which isn't likely) I didn't see any "OMG this is all over digg/reddit" comments in the thread.

Which is encouraging.

noobies, sheesh. makes a fine post then goes and hand wrings publicly. For cryin' out loud, you have made the best post here in days, swept away gobs of dreck, and now you wring your hands over how this stuff was available on some other popular site!!? Stop worrying and make some more nice posts like this. Please, we need them.

I must beg your pardon, but "peeler" begins with a 'P' and not 'S', your excellency.

I'm not here to hate on things, but let me just say to all those who "never read reddit/digg/boingboing/etc": you totally should, there's a bunch of cool links there.

Humblest of apologies for the correction, but "peeler" is actually spelled "Jarvis 2000 Bung Gun", your Lordship.

weretable is 100% correct, about the not-reading and the ass-fucking.

Makes you think Metafilter, on the whole, is way, way, WAY too effing critical, doesn't it? Just like all those warnings plastered on new ladders these days, this is what frivolous Metatalk callouts beget.

If you read digg so I don't have to then more power to you, pal.

I like this particular frivolous Metatalk callout, as it drew my attention to the FPP in question. Neat post.
