Wow, what a handsome bunch! 6550 looks like cmonkey's long lost brother.

My abject shame at having missed this (sorry all, hell of a couple weeks, haven't had time to breath, and can't really afford gas to Denver at the moment) is mitigated by the fact that I've received my first (albeit apparently post-facto) shoutout. Thanks!

Love the hat—thanks!

Oh sure, shout out a buncha nobodies who didn't even grow up out there. *sniff*

(seriously, looks like a great time!)

Dude! My first shout-out!

Ex-cellent! Thank you!

Many thanks, and warm regards, to the Mile-High Drinking and Geeking Society.

Things to do in Denver when you're deaddrunk.

That's the prettiest shout out I've seen.

More pix OVER HERE. The poor quality of the photos can be blamed on the high quality of the beer.

That was very fun--you all are great. I'm proud that my fellow Denver (and Boulder) MeFites don't suck. Let's do that again!

(Nails the Cat and 6550, I do hope that you stumbled home OK from your respective train stops?)

I didn't show up. My wife bought a horse. :|

I really enjoyed the meetup. Thanks to lfr and fieldtrip for the photos.

fieldtrip, I did make it home ok. I missed the first train as it came almost immediately after I got off yours and I didn't have a ticket yet and there was a cop/security on the train so I didn't risk riding that one. I bought a ticket and had to wait about half an hour for the next train and was alright by then. I even gave a cute girl named Erin a ride home.

Awesome. I once had a sixty-dollar shot of whiskey in Denver. It was worth it. So was this. Thanks!

you're welcome koeselitz. for the record, the reasons for your post-facto shoutage were thusly: a) we kind of expected you (and eekacat) there in person and b) i could not for the life of me recall how to spell your damn handle... i blame the beer, personally.

and it's okay, believe me - i recently went thru a stint of unemployment myself and am still digging out. only the joys of cheap public transit allows me to attend these things, honestly.

boo_radley: i grew up on a horse farm. you'll have to do better than that, dude.

kidding! we're already discussing the 'wheres' and 'whens' of the next edition.

6550: congrats on the cute girlage, but did you get a phone number dude!

lfr: Would it help if I said it's a green horse? (and thanks for the shoutout!)
posted by boo_radley at 10:49 AM on March 12, 2007

boo_radley: um. maybe a little, depends upon your specific approach to horse-handling, along with the specific horse in question... i've seen plenty of spousal units whose sole contribution to dealing with nutcases was to stand at the far end of the paddock shouting encouragement and/or invective. last thing i wanted to hear from my x when i had hooves flying round my ears was: 'looks like you're doing fine, honey!'

Fieldtrip:
I stumbled very well thank you. Hop skippety all the way. Wasn't that far at all -- or so it seemed on my beer scooter. Thanks for getting me within tottering distance of home!

6550:
Sorry you had to wait for your connection. Hope you see Erin again, mate.

I'm up for another whenever. I'm in Denver most weeks and all weekends just about. (I'm in the cold northern wastes of Ontario right now...)
