Is this happening to anyone else? I view a post, click back, and there's that little window hanging over the MeFi logo. Eh?

Do you have the greasemonkey?

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. Could you highlight the problematic element in the screenshot somehow?

Just kidding. Not showing up like that for me in Firefox.

that's straight. i've heard of misplaced divs like that in ie, but that little pop up isn't even popping up on the right page. it's for favoriting a comment on... the front page?

ive been doing this all day, im sorry. that's "strange" not "straight".

It's just some weird div thing with firefox, where if something was popped up over a page and you hit back, it lingers. It happens to me all the time on other sites.

Now, what kind of person would mix up "strange" and "straight"?

"strap-on" is the reverse of "no-parts".

cortex, I think this is what mathowie means when he says we are sometimes "unhelpful"

I have seen firefox occasionally do this. It happens any time there is one of those tooltips for a title/alt attribute still being displayed when the page changes. Sometimes it can linger for a while. In this case it might be complicated by the fancy DHTML titles thing, which you should try disabling.

Eh, I can't really tell what you're talking about. Could you highlight it a little on that screenshot?

I'm pretty sure mathowie is just a story parents use to scare their children.

"Eat your vegetables, or mathowie will say you're sometimes unhelpful!" That sort of thing.

i just said "posteriority" instead of "posterity" in another thread.

I can just see mathowie reading the dialogue between cortex and jessamyn, removing his glasses and burying his face in his hands while letting out a long sigh of the utmost derision.

Thanks for the help, mathowie.

Phaedon, I demand you use this thread to catalog your future malapropisms.

You really want to be helpful, heck, come on over here and gimme a shoulder rub!

By the way, the screen shot shows artifact of nicetitles, which is getting long in the tooth. I've mentioned 3 or 4 times that I can remember that there are better-coded solutions to achieve the same effect, and pointed to my favorites, q-tips and dustin diaz's sweet-titles (I hacked that one for my proposed image compromize a while back). Both are lighter, better-looking, more extensible and customizable, and in my humble, just plain better than nicetitles (which was a fine first-order solution to the non-problem of regular ol' title balloons). I think a switch to either would eliminate the issue, minor as it is. But I've suggested it before, to no avail.

*shrugs, winces*

"Strap on", sides reversed, is "no parts".
