univac doesn't like SEIU president Andy Stern. Fine. But he's pedaling too close to the turfgrass line for my tastes, and the latest article is pretty shaky.

I think he's just being more liberal then thou. It seems like there's a tenancy on the left (well, with some core of the activist left) to basically attack anyone with power, including other leftist who sway at all ideological purity. It's a really annoying trait.
There was another article bashing Stern a while back posted on metafilter. Here it is...
Okay, turns out that was univac's only other post. He basically slandered the guy by using a less common definition of "outsourcing" (which normally means hiring overseas workers, but in this case meant hiring local service companies to do things like sanitation)

If I were a speculating man, I'd say he's a union member, working on his taxes and grousing that his hourly wage has not kept up with Mr. Stern's pay. I could tell a harrowing tale of what two of the Big Hollywood Unions did to keep me working at minimum wage back in the 1970s, but I won't. If every MeFite with a personal grudge against a Very Important Person put it in a Front Page Post, the site wouldn't look much different than it does now, but making mostly the same bitch twice should not be tolerated.

"Feh" is an actual, real-world, bad-taste-in-the-mouth sound. "Meh" is an internet-only sound of affected careless disdain.
At least I hope nobody uses "meh" in real life. They'd sound like assholes if they did.

Hmm, my analysis used as support in a metafilter callout. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Certainly a crap article, though I wonder if such uninformed bias in a well-distributed paper (I have no idea if it's respected at all) is noteworthy enough on its own.
