Not another favourites pony: Tag clouds for favourites?

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but would it be possible to have a tag list/cloud akin to the one on the front page or your profile page, except on the my favourites page? How hard would this be to code? I use the 'favourites' function largely as a bookmark for threads I want to read when I have more time, so it'd be lovely if I could someday say "Hey, I feel like reading all threads that involve scifi" and have those threads all nicely listed for me and such.

I'm not sure I got what you're asking for.

Do you want:

a) tags added to favorites, so you can start applying tags to anything you favorite, then down the line we can show you your favorites in a tag cloud format by self-applied tag.

or

b) us to pull the existing tags out on posts you've marked as a favorite, in order to auto-construct a tag cloud based on how people described the posts you liked

Was it b? I can't tell.

Yeah, I considered asking for a), too, then realized it was more or less an in-site del.icio.us gimmick and that there was little purpose.

Although, the del.icio.us extension doesn't work with Firefox 3 beta, much to my chagrin. Oh well.

Tag clouds are one of the most chortleworthy, froofy affectations of "Web 2.0" in my opinion. Not particularly practical for, you know, finding information, but gosh darned if they don't look fancy floating around there like.

While I'm inclined to agree with loiseau when it comes to other sites, I'll admit I would use a tag cloud that pulls the tags on posts I've favorited. For example, I tend to favorite a lot of music posts as bookmarks for revisiting when I have more time, and it would be nice if I could just see all those posts when I'm sitting in front of my computer with the decent speakers.

I remember that one time somebody flew his tag jet into a tag cloud. All the tag passengers inside the tag jet went, 'tag ooooh,' but what they didn't know was there was a tag mountain hidden in the tag cloud. It was a tagastrophe.
