Oh, I see. I think you are presuming my initial comment was a song parody. It wasn't; I just got it into my head to write poems every so often as a comment. I've always liked the newspaper doggerel that used to show up with some frequency, where people would wrfie fast and dirty rhymed couplets about current events, and this now seems to be something of a lost tradition, so I just thought I would revive it, at least for myself. Didn't expect it would get this sort of response, although I couldn't be more flattered by it.

It seems spectacularly unlikely that there's any grime MCs on MetaFilter Music, but if so, this would work for them, too. Just take most of the definite articles out, replace the references to Slidell with the appropriate postcode, and it'd be ready for spitting over bars, as the youngers say. (Realising this will probably ruin my ability to listen to both grime and murder ballads forever. Bum.)

But he criticized it for being a lame parody, which it isn't, and therefore clearly didn't know what he was being a dink about. There's no law against being a jerk, thank god, but if one is going to be they should at least have their shit straight.
