Hudson Street Market in Providence is closing some time next week!
I stopped in yesterday for a cup of coffee and had a chat with the owner and she informed me that the store will be closing. The building was sold and I believe a new market is going in it's place. Once again another great community spot shutting down. The owner (whose name I can not pin down the spelling for Kim? Kyhm? Kym?) says the store will be reopening some time in March on Richmond St downtown. So don't worry, the legacy of their amazing sandwiches and community support will live on. She has some wonderful ideas for the new place so when they do reopen who is down for a meetup for a sandwich and reminiscing about the good old days?
I know I'm jumping the gun on the idea of a meet up at a place that is technically not open yet, but I wanted to get the word out. Any one who knows this place knows the importance of it's involvement in the community and I'm sure Kim? will appreciate the help and support from all of us who care.

I need a Hudson Street Market sammich.
So bad. I need to have at least one of their sandwiches before they close. It is the greatest thing to ever have been a sandwich place.

Never heard of it, and I used to live in Providence. I'm going to comment here so I can remember to visit the new place when I come back to visit. I love good sandwiches.

I moved to Pawtucket a month or so ago, and while I do not know this place specifically, I am pro-sandwich as a rule.

I lived two doors down from Hudson St. and it was the greatest thing in the history of great things. Previous to that, I lived half a block away. My time in Providence was spent with great sandwiches. Honestly, one of those things would last me for at *least* two meals, and I'm talking about the *small* size.
Depending on scheduling, I would LOVE to meet-up for a sandwich. And to see Kym (I'm pretty sure it's Kym), she's one of the nicest and most awesome people ever.
