I've got nothing clever to say about John Scalzi, but I am reading one of his books. March 26, 2009 10:28 AM   Subscribe

He's up for a Hugo again, FWIW.

(Also it's a nice interview, though PUBLISHER INTERVIEWS PUBLISHEE is perhaps not the scoop of the decade)

He's up for several, isn't he? Like, three.

Sci-Fi? Publishing? And here I thought we were talking about Tor.

I used to have a whole run of Tor. I wish I had hung on to them.

I prefer Tor.

This doesn't go here. Metafilter-related is kind of stretching it.

Would you prefer it if Metafilter-related were squeezed?

GuyZero, the previous Scalzi thread was already closed.

John Scalzi seems like a nice guy, so this isn't about him, FWIW. If you're posting these here because you felt it wasn't enough to justify a full post on the blue then that's not what MetaTalk is for. Scalzi is a quasi-public figure and everything he does doesn't have to go on Metafilter somewhere. Unless the interview was totally about Metafilter, in which case I'll go back to bed in my underground lair.

not sorry one bit

"I posted this here instead of the blue because I don't think it's really so interesting, except that it..."

GuyZero, that's your reason for posting, not mine.

I guess I found the fact that I spotted an interview of an author I am currently reading, who is also a member of this site, to be as relevant and probably of more interest to the people here than wondering if anyone was going on a run or posting about an API, but that's just me.

Ouch. Learn from my shame. Really. I make absolutely no defenses about having posted that. There are many MeFi posts that I should never have made. Let my pain be your gain.

I didn't know why this was posted here because I never saw the previous thread and didn't know Scalzi was on Metafilter, but I clicked on it anyway, because hey, why not. I'm glad I did, and I'm glad it was posted. SO THERE!
