My "you're great at counting" line makes no sense since there's no count-in at the beginning, but we had to do it a few times [for sound syncing purposes] to get it right and it was amusing how hard it was for three of us to count to five together.

And yes: Out of Beta Since 1999 is really a great slogan I think.

In my mind the 10th Anniversary meetup is this grand but comfy event where there's a big jam/sing-songy kind of thing with tons of people from Music playing everyone's songs and switching instruments. And it's at some old awesome art-deco kind of theater, probably in Northern California.
In the more-real version of this fantasy, I'd be too nervous and probably stay at the hotel or ditch the meeup and drive through the Santa Cruz mountains trying to find Neil Young's ranch or else I'd show up and drink too much early nervous-beer and get sausage-fingers so I couldn't play guitar and I'd forget all the words.
In the real real-life version we're on vacation in northern Ontario that week and I'll probably check in on my parents' dial-up instead of being able to make it down to Toronto.

w/r/t SEO douchebags: I have been doing some web content writing and have to "do" SEO in order to get the site to respond to search right. I think it's widely abused, of course, but pretty much anybody writing a commercial website has to work with the principles of SEO.

Same here Miko. I manage a retail site, and there's a lot to keep track of with regard to SEO practices. Like most things on the web, there's (at least) the wrong way of doing it, the right way of doing it, and the ARRRGHYOUDOUCHEBAG way of doing it.

It's especially frustrating when something within your company but outside of your control (hypothetical example, frequency of email marketing) starts toeing the line of that third option.

Not hypothetical. We send, way, way too many emails.

It has directions written right on it. They say clean it before each load. It's a safety thing: It might not have been done after the last load, so you'd have to check it anyway, lest you burn the house down.

Thanks for the very kind mention of both Kickstarter and Kind of Bloop. To answer Jessamyn's question, everyone that kicks in money to the Kind of Bloop project before the deadline gets the exclusive updates (and bonus MP3s) and/or a limited-edition CD (depending on how much you put in), since I'm not selling it once the project's over. All the money goes towards CD production costs, artist royalties, and paying the musicians.
