User Music playlists. Does anyone actually look at or keep track of anyone's playlist but their own? On a regular basis? And if so, whose playlists do you recommend taking a look at (your own playlist does not count)?

Yes. Slack-a-go-go's for one. There's very little cross-over in our collections, but I respect his opinions. box (ditto). Mostly, though, I trawl through playlists randomly.

I do the random-playlist-crawl thing too, now and then. It's kind of nice to see what things catch a given person's eye. I don't use them in any active sense besides, that, though.

The profile pages for crush-onastick, Slack-a-go-go, and box show no playlists. So... how do I find people's playlists?

rhapsodie - near the bottom of the profile page is a LAST.FM section with the last 10 songs the user played. If you click on the user's name (example: crush-onastick's recent tracks via Last.fm) it will take to you that user's Last FM page. In the upper right hand corner of that page is a playlist where you can stream tracks they have in their playlist.

Ah, last.fm is blocked at work. Which is why I can't see that. Thanks for the clarification!

I listen to crush-onastick's playlist (and not just because she recommended mine - her Last FM has reignited my long dormant love for Curve and has inspired me to add quite a bit to my MP3 player). I'd also recommend checking out safetyfork and BoringPostcards on Last Fm.

If you want to sample what other MeFites are listening to you can click on Recently Listened Tracks by MeFites via Last.fm for a somewhat real time look at what other folks here are grooving to. For some reason my feed stops updating in real time and posts 5 or 6 hours later, because I don't see anything I've listened to today on the MeFi page (but it's live at last Fm).

Okay, but Last.fm keeps track of everything that we listen to. I believe this question was specifically about the playlist feature in Music (coincidentally not blocked at work); is there a way to browse those? I see a "most playlisted" list and a "this song appears on the following playlists" list on the song's page and a link in profiles to a user's playlists (cortex has 9!), but the /playlists/ directory gives me an error.

I left my ipod at home today, and would love to fill my day with Music Playlists.

oops. I never play around with MeMusic, so I missed that part of it! Ah well.

sorry rhapsodie - I also misinterpreted your question. I've only tooled around briefly on MeFi Music -although it's something I want to check out more in depth at some point.
