Belated super-ultra-niche-updatefilter: I was dismissive of wordnik when it was posted to the blue, indicating that I preferred wordie. Surprise! They're merging.

Oy! Yes! Look for the first stages of integration by the end of the month. Tons of new stuff. Check out the Wordnikie suggestion box for some hints at the awesomepantsness that will result.

PS: I'm one of the co-founders of Wordnik and I have the beta site open in another tab. :)

This will be interesting to follow. I was one of the more active members on Wordie during its first year but things got busy and I haven't been able to keep up with it. Good times on that site though.

Either that or "busier and more cluttered, making it harder to see the info on the page you want; by default hiding most of the most valuable information, the definitions, requiring user action to reveal it; slower to load." Time to write a greasemonkey script.
