Can we have some mefi onesies too please?

I have a baby that owes her unteaseable name to metafilter and we would love to support the grey, green and blue by putting her and her big sister in onesies. Well, toddler in a little t-shirt.

Would others like to put their little folk in them? Little Milo looks like he'd love one, hey ColdChef?!

Matt, pretty please?

I'm totally against it. I don't like kids. And even if I did (and I don't), then Metafilter wouldn't be a very good influence on them, now would it? That's all we need. The more I think about it, the madder I get! MeFi branded onesies! Just say no!

I'm curious about what the unteaseable name is, but I'd feel pretty weird asking the name of a kid I don't know. So I'm just going to assume her name is "I'maBigStupidJerk." Basically nowhere to go with that.

MetaFilter the T-shirt, MetaFilter the Coloring Book, MetaFilter the Lunch box, MetaFilter the Breakfast Cereal, MetaFilter the Flame Thrower. (The kids love this one.)

Here is my kiddo's Mefi onesie [front] [back] [in action!], done in honor of the 10th anniversary meetup! I know you all don't want this one, but I couldn't help sharing. See also my AskMe question -- as you can see I really liked the idea of putting "[more inside]" on the butt!

Mr/Ms Pigeon.... it's Seldon. When you consider she was nearly a Dhardon, you can see why I love this place so much... and I'm sure folk will find something about Seldon that they want to tease, but in the list I presented to the green... Seldon was the besterest.

taff: "unteaseable name"

"Seldom Seldon"
"Sel-dumb"
"Hey, establish any Foundations lately?"

No name is unteaseable. Kids are ingenius. (But that name is spectacular, nonetheless.)

Hey, if Matt can't stock enough 3X shirts for the goddamned adults around here, the kids can just fuck the fuck right off, you know what I'm sayin'?

I can only support this is we get dog sweaters as well. And possibly a pancake subsidy.

mefi should partner with falcon northwest and make a sick light blue metafilter gaming rig.

If the kids get onesies, I --DEMAND-- that the adults get metafilter speedsuits. To do superscience in.

I'm raising my son as a nudist, so I don't need a onesie. But I would like some adult feetie-pajamas that have that button-up buttflap thing.

I would love a toddler-sized t-shirt for my little guy.

And Doofus - I would call that a romper, not a onesie, even though the article called it a onesie. Rompers have legs, onesies don't.

and oops, "Onesie" is actually a trademarked term.

When little Seldon goes to school, will the teacher call on Not Matt? Will Seldon ever recover from being a negative?
posted by Cranberry at 11:33 AM on October 17, 2009

What a bunch of cheeky buggers.... I think I'm going to have to put some of you over my knee and spank your bots.

And I'm not getting the Hairy Seldon reference. Is it a person?

I shouldn't have thrown the gauntlet of the unteaseable name. None of you brought these up in the original thread. Is it too late to call her Gertrude...?

And Matt, about the onesies... yes??

other mefi attire that should be available:

tube socks
lederhosen
helmets
lifejackets
garter belts
capes

If adult-sized footie pajamas are unavailable, I would settle for unitards.

I know Delmoi, I would never have noticed that except for the help of the green. And I'm loving the idea of a Fedora.

BUT MOST OF ALL I WANT ONESIES. MATT?????

*sniff sniff*

Matt doesn't love my idea, does he?
posted by taff at 3:39 AM on October 18, 2009

Nobody else cares about the onesies.

However, when it comes to the adult-sized footie romper-pyjamas with the Jed Clampett bum-flap, the crowd has spoken!

I'd just like t shirt designs that are better than the current ones. I've already got one of the blue ones, it's good. I wanted to buy more, but the grey ones seem a bit dull to me.

A mefi t-shirt design comp would seem an easy thing to get together.

And maybe a mefi labcoat.

That wouldn't be too much to ask.

And chaps. For when I ride my pony.

I'd always heard that slippery-slope arguments were inherently fallacious, but Metafilter merch makes me wonder.

Also, 'Seldon'?
posted by box at 7:34 AM on October 18, 2009

Actually, I'd cough up a moderate amount of dough for an Ask Metafilter branded labcoat.
posted by majick at 8:55 AM on October 18, 2009

Labcoat? That would go remarkably well with a MetaFilter codpiece!

It is pretty safe from ridicule outside of Asimov fans...for the kid. The 'rents'll probably catch no end.

I would like blue fleece doggie coats in various sizes emblazoned with taglines:

I actually know far more about squeaky toys than I think you can imagine.

HI I'M FROM METAFILTER AND I COULD OVERTHINK A DISH OF KIBBLE.

I've been used to being MUZZLED all my LIFE.

I was hoping for a metafilter merkin.

Light blue, natch - gray or green is probably not a good color for a merkin.
posted by jenkinsEar at 10:44 AM on October 18, 2009

That said, green is probably the right color for a Metafilter gherkin.
