Page refresh after login link? March 4, 2002 2:57 PM   Subscribe

when hitting the "login" link after deciding I'd like to post something, is it possible to refresh back the page I was at before I logged in? more inside.

I find that sometimes, I'll be at a new machine, or have cleared my cookies, and won't be logged in, and then i'll read somethng and be like "hey wow, i have something to add!" (as rare as that is, i know) and then i login, and bam. front page. often, it takes me a minute to figure out which post i was in.

then i have to figure out who i was replying to.

and then i have to remember what the hell i was going to say.

at that point, it's pretty much all over.

granted, it's something tiny. but my jokings aside, it would be something small worth seeing added, if possible.

That's what your browser history is for. Just click back a couple of times until you get to the thread page, then reload. Since you're logged in now, you'll get the posting form.

Or open the login form in a new window, login, then refresh the thread page.

Yeah, I know how to do this now and have been meaning to add the code. It's on my to-do list (I should really keep a public list somewhere I can check things off from as they are done). There are a handful of little tweaks I need to do that require just sitting down and doing them.

Cool, Matt.

I'd be interested to see what other tweaks you have in mind, so I fully support you posting the to-do list online. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
