I just got this nice Mefimail from a Mefite: i found you on meta. i am new here! your info caught my eye! you seem very unique and interesting to me.
I was deeply flattered, of course. The message continued:
i actually am a phone fantasy girl working out of my home and stumbled on you as i first logged on. you may of course not be into XXX conversation however i just wanted to say hi and touch base with someone that is deep and intellectual like you.
At this point I was a little taken aback by her profession, but I am very open minded and I try not judge someone by the way they earn a living. Also the fact that she recognized that I was "deep and intellectual" convinced me that someone out there finally understood the profundity of my Metafilter presence.
I haven't written back yet. Even though she assures me that MY CALLS ARE JUST A BUCK A MINUTE I don't know if her intellectual companionship is worth the price.
I guess my question is: "how often should I expect to get interesting Mefimails such as this one?" It's never happened to me before.
Though I can explain this by the aforementioned lack of recognition of my profundity.
