Just sighted in the IMDb Hitlist: a Metafilter mention! (scroll to bottom of page)

Looks like Rory Marinich's excellent post on the Mulholland Drive TV Pilot has reached a wider audience today. Congrats to him and MeFi for making the IMDb front page.

I think you mean "Metafiler.com," our sister site for obsessive taxonomists.

Way to go, Rory in specific, and MeFi in general!

Fame is fleeting, however, and this will only stand today and as far as I know there's no archiving of the Hitlist anywhere on IMDb.

So take a screen shot to preserve your glory, and know that movie geeks the world over (or at least the subset who scroll to the bottom of the IMDb front page) could be clicking through!

And this post made me notice the trailer for Breaking Bad's fourth season, so thanks hippybear!

(somebody find a reason to post about Breaking Bad to the blue so we can discuss the season three finale plz)

Hi, just a quick reminder that Breaking Bad is pretty great and all, and that though general Metafilter policy is pretty hands-off regarding spoilers it would be great if you could avoid posting any them in any open who Threads that are not directly about recent episodes, as not everyone is torrenting it fast enough, cheers. /Wendysburger*

It's like we're Wainscoting of the internet. We've been mentioned on imdb!

This is only good if it gets me even more favorites for a comment that was just a Memail. Soon I will fill entire threads with the thoughtless back-and-forth about clothes and comics that is my every interaction with The Whelk. You will have no one to blame but yourselves.

The best part of Breaking Bad Season 4 is when he wakes up and it turns out 'Walt' was the dream-construct of Jeffrey Beaumont of Lumberton.

Hey awesome. That was a great post and spawned such a great discussion. Also now I know there's something called the IMDB hit list! Which seems to have some interesting stuff on it. So that's cool.

Yeah, it's new every weekday. Sometimes it's interesting, other times not so much, but always worth looking at. And only to be found at the bottom of the front page of IMDb.

Um... I wish you weren't kidding. I've avoid BB spoilers, and I'd like to see it soon, so posting spoilers in non-Breaking Bad threads would be very inconsiderate.

Hey, didn't you hear? You actually can't spoil really great narratives! Otherwise you're just watching some bullshit that isn't good and therefor doesn't matter anyway.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! This is me using bullshit reasoning just so I don't have to feel like an ass when I ruin the experience of discovery for you! As if curiosity and seeking aren't one of the most basic inborn emotional drives directly connected to pleasure.

I think at the end of that conversation I ended up wearing a modest black pinstripe with a conservative tie, but a big gold honeybee pin and neon red high tops to match the pale red stripes on the shirt.

For the Manchester meet up I did infact wear a tweed blazer with a pink plaid shirt and a dark purple 'Scotland forever' tartan tie.

Last night in York, for the other meetip, I wore a black and white sailor's sweater with pale green canvas oats and brownish white boat shoes.

This has been your guide to the Whelk's outfits.

today we are wearing a 'burgundy' shirt with dark blue buttons, a pink plaid silk tie, an argyle sweater vest in faded blue and tan with red cross lines and light brown twill pants, finished off with mismatched red/ pink/black argyle socks and sensible brown leather oxfords. Thank you

Oh yeah you motherfucker and I worked hard on matching that goddam shirt of yours and in the end you were like 'Oh how about if I just dress boring but with a big goddam bee pin that I didn't tell you about?'

That shirt is impossible to match and you know it. It was the Kobiayshi Maru of fashion.

Sounds dangerous. Maybe a monocle? Is outside help forbidden?

I have yet to brave a Chicago meetup. There is something about a goat that is slightly worrying.

I saw a well turned out young couple walking their goat on the streets of New Orleans recently. you have nothing to fear.

The goat was being lead around on a rope leash, which seemed needlessly cruel as shabby chic has passed and gone

Meanwhile, on Twitter, The Whelk does appear to be wearing a shirt at all, which must make the bumblebee pin excruciating.
