It'd be good to not have it get out of hand, yes. I feel like we haven't really gotten into that territory so far, and the dude-flipping-over-a-table thing is at least a lot less space-filling than the hardcore ZALGO stuff was, but restraint in all things, definitely.

I am sort of in agreement with this (I agree that complicated emoticons probably are a net negative to communication clarity most of the time) but mostly I just think it's interesting how those emoticons are totally readable and clear once you can resolve the intended image in your head, but look exactly like gibberish if you don't know what you're looking at.

would provide a nice little animation of Kimberly's addendum there.

Right -- a lot of the stuff in the emoji post shows up for me as Unicode placeholder characters. The Zalgo stuff is the same for me, it never renders right. Current Firefox, default style settings, but I'm on XP so maybe my fonts have more holes than more recent OS versions.

It makes it less cutesey, more annoying. Not annoying enough to grumble about (until this specifically-grumbly thread appeared) or even to flag-and-move-on. But still.

This is just pro-Doctor revisionist nonsense. Everything would have worked out fine, Rassilon's plan would have succeeded, and the Time Lords would have become true gods had not The Doctor meddled on behalf of the interests of humanity and, well, the rest of the universe, which would have been unfortunately but necessarily destroyed in the process.
