I'm totally lost. Why do you think NBC saw that documentary here? I've re-read the NBC piece like four times now and I can't figure out the connection. I've Ctrl-F'ed "meta". Maybe NoScript is blocking something on the NBC site? Fuck, now seeing your latest example, you're fuckin' making a joke, or some sort of point, I guess.

I read both of these stories first on Reddit. Then I heard stories about both topics on NPR. Then I saw them here. And apparently NBC has access to the internet at their offices, too.

So, I clicked on the NBCNews link before I read the thread. I read the whole thing, and I didn't notice MetaFilter being mentioned. I figured I'd missed it, so I read the whole thing again, more carefully this time. I still didn't catch a mention of MetaFilter, so I went through the whole slideshow and perused the ads on the page, just in case I'd missed something the first two times.
If Jaymzifer is shilling for NBCNews, he's doing a heck of a job.

Both of those stories I saw elsewhere before I saw them here.
