We own neither Metafilter Blue nor Metafilter Yellow, but that site is in any case using neither. posted by cortex(staff) at 7:22 AM on December 21, 2012 [3 favorites]

Technically this could be counted as the "trade dress" aka look & feel of Metafilter, even if they're not quite using our colours. Essentially it's whether the average person would think that there's a link.
That being said, there's a million caveats and I'm not a trademark lawyer and I personally would lean towards "meh, who cares." But definitely neat! posted by Lemurrhea at 7:30 AM on December 21, 2012
Oh cool, a Metafilter sailing subsite! I'll complain to Jessamyn about any trouble I have with it! posted by Pope Guilty at 7:31 AM on December 21, 2012 [25 favorites]
I have it on good authority that this is a Metafilter spinoff. In a groundbreaking renewable energy initiative, those sailing boats are powered by hot air generated from within the comments section of posts on the blue. posted by MuffinMan at 7:32 AM on December 21, 2012 [3 favorites]

I'm leaning that way too, but that's mostly because I don't have my sea legs yet, and all the pitching and rolling we're doing on these waves has me feeling like something in my gullet's coming back up. posted by koeselitz at 8:38 AM on December 21, 2012 [1 favorite]

Damnit The Whelk, now I'm thinking about fried pierogi.
Technically technically, "pierogi" is (the Polish spelling of) the Polish name for the dish. A Ukrainian would call the same dish "varenyky." This instructional video shows the preferred method of consumption. posted by Nomyte at 10:49 AM on December 21, 2012 [1 favorite]

If this video does not show someone flinging fistfuls of vareniki into a vat of sour cream and then diving in after them like Scrooge McDuck in his money bin, then it is INACCURATE. posted by elizardbits at 12:54 PM on December 21, 2012
