My God, it's full of links! May 2, 2013 9:56 AM   Subscribe

Do we know what post has the largest number of links ever? I would imagine this current post would be a contender.

No, we don't have that info. We don't track number of links per post or comment.

It was probably this one by stavrosthewonderchicken who is actually a decent fellow who usually doesn't go in for the stunty stunt type of stuff, but there you go

troll's awesome post on Bill Nye the Science Guy had a huge number of links, but not nearly as many as stav's.

Here's the Bill Nye post in question. I thought JHarris' High Weirdness by Mail post had more links, but it's more write-up than linkage.

I thought that tamim once posted a thread on something (Bollywood???) where every letter of every word was a hypertexted link, that got alot of attention and awe at the time (a long time ago), but I can't find it so maybe I just dreamed it.

Probably not more links than your example here though! But at the time it was remarkable. (Unless it was just a dream.)

Yep, it was tamim and Bollywood. That posting style is (thankfully) less common now, but there were quite a few like that.

Oh thanks donnagirl! At the time 85 links in one post was enough to merit a Metatalk post!

One link, one post: just how god intended.

Some of the link-heavist posts seem like Trying Too Hard, but I find that posts about music (and movies, I suppose) always benefit from having more examples of an artist's/group's work.

(And the exception-proving-the-rule to that, for me, was a one-word link about six weeks ago in a much longer post about Easter Vigil observances that pointed out the group Taizé -- and I happily followed that rathole for a good long time!)

who is actually a decent fellow

Well, thanks, I guess. I have never really aspired to decent fellow status, that loftiest of goals, but I will take it where I can get it.

Also, I do regret that post, the more so now that music videos are literally everywhere you look on youtube. Ah well.
