GISHWHES 2017 wrap up: Keeping it weird August 19, 2017 6:57 PM   Subscribe

A few weeks ago I put a call out for members of the defacto mefite team for the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen. GISHWHES wrapped up about a week ago. Here, for your viewing pleasure, are the 2017 submissions of Team StrangeFascination.

Veteran GISHers including kjs4, Ruki, divka, and His thoughts were red thoughts and newcomers exceptinsects, Eumachia L F, and Room 641-A pulled out some quality strange for supposedly the last ever GISHWHES.

Can we have a subsite of MetaFilter where the words below the text input box are "keeping it weird"?

PLEASE???

I've been thinking that I would like to spend about a year trying to get through as much of the list as possible. A week isn't long enough.

Can't find a link now but saw a funny picture of a handwritten sign outside a boutique "no scavenger items here".

I believe that it is imperative that I understand how the grocery cart was modified to be climb-innable and sittable. Provided, of course, that it is not a trade secret subject to nondisclosure agreements. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

That is an easy one to answer, since I was one of the people who did that item. It was an extremely complex process, involving much engineering, cutting edge machining, myriad oranges and two very irate cats.

We had a step stool, and it was extremely uncomfortable in the cart.

That's kind of amazing, considering how at ease the riders appear to be. Thanks for the hints!
