MeFites on Are.na

Frimble was kind enough to add Are.na to the 'Also On' profile page options. So far I only see two other MeFites who have added their Are.na profiles (and one is broken). Surely there are more of you. How have you been using the site?

If you're unfamiliar (it's fairly new), Are.na is like Pinterest for nerds. Or scrapbooking for the semi-social. Or a platform for rhizomatic research. More descriptions in the "How do you describe Are.na at a party?" channel.

I'm here on Are.na and have mainly been using it to organize resources on open data, transparency, and HCI.

I signed up but haven’t really used it since. Pretty sure I’m under my same username.

I only learned about it in the first place thanks to waninggibbon's previous mention of it in the '"Also On" Cleanup' thread last month. I've used it to make a start on an on-line scrapbook further to my peculiar interest in old stationery. I've no immediate plans to use the site's social & collaborative features, but may perhaps do that in future.

Was expecting this to be a first person shooter with gigantic virtual reality monster avatars in a vast virtually crowded, take a beat, ARENA, but anyway, my small block.

Only requirement seems to be length. They're responsive by email, if you're having trouble [e-mail].

First impressions: cool but you've been going since 2011 and haven't fixed the '1 blocks' bug yet? That's a green M&M right there.

Interesting, looks like Pinterest without the repellent marketing and forced account to browse. I've never used Pinterest because it seemed like I was signing up to hop into an advertising sausage grinder.

Must one use one's real name (or fake a real name) on are.na? The sign up fails if I don't fill in the last name field.

I haven't seen any policy. You can probably use a pseudonym or initials.
