This is a shoutout to poffin boffin, who in the last month has made 23 posts on the general topic of Indigenous Peoples, ranging from herring fisheries to sign languages to neologisms to cuisine to high steelworkers. Some of these posts didn't get many comments, but collectively they are an admirable corpus on an important topic.

It had been my intention to thank poffin boffin privately for her recent FPP on the Haida language film recently shown at the Toronto International Film Festival but it turns out she doesn't do MeMail so I'll just leave this here where I hope she will find it.

Thank you for your recent FPP on "Sgaawaay K’uuna"

I forwarded a link to my downstairs neighbor, who is part of a family with deep connections in Haida cultural preservation thinking he might be interested in it but he was way ahead of me.. His reply:

"YES! My Nonnie Delores and my great auntie Jane are both in the movie and didn’t stick to script. Haha

She just got back from the premiere on Haida Gwaii last week."
