Are any Mefites in Beirut or Lebanon right now? I want to check in to see how you are doing after the explosion.

Several friends are in the hospital; several are missing. The devastation is extraordinary. Parts of Gemmayzeh and Mar Mikhael are flattened. The rage is palpable, with more destruction from the hands of Lebanon’s political elites/warlords.

I'm heartbroken for everyone in Beirut. My friends there were already demoralized about the state of affairs; this has made them feel hopeless.

It's a real tragedy.
