Has Anyone Ever Developed a Mefi "User Tag"/"User Note" Feature?

Reddit Enhancement Suite has a "User Tagger" feature, which (aside from also acting as a killfile) will put a small note of your own choosing next to a user name, optionally with that tag acting as a link. I'm wondering if anyone ever developed that as a userscript for Mefi. [I also remember one that definitely did exist which would highlight the OP of a thread as well as mods (this being before the built-in admin highlighting was added). Does anyone have a link for that?]

Here's the page of Greasemonkey Scripts and Plugins on the wiki. I don't believe there is one like the one you're describing, though I've always liked Mark Librarian Contributions which, if I've marked you as a colleague, will show a little book by your name. That page is current-ish so might be worth perusing.

The brief description on the wiki page Jessamyn linked to might not make this clear, but Metafilter Navigator is likely the one your bracketed second question is looking for. (It also has the handy feature of of adding tiny links after every comment that'll jump you to that user's next or previous comment in a thread.)

There used to be one that would do user notes on profile pages which was viewable with a hover over. I'm sure I had one installed at one time that did it inline as well back in the metafilthy days because I got called out for a user note if mine that I accidentally quoted via metafilthy but I haven't been able to find any metas mentioning it..

This sounds useful, but it would be a lot of work for me to input all the data into it that I currently maintain in several filing cabinets full of paper dossiers.

Paper dossiers? Who has room? I keep all mine on microfiche.
