See All Books January 3, 2022 10:00 AM   Subscribe

This is the most minor problem. Fanfare has five categories in the sidebar on the right: TV, Movies, Podcasts, Books, and Special Events. The first three (TV, Movies, and Podcasts) link to the Archives page, naming their links respectively "See All TV Shows," "See All Movies," and "See All Podcasts." Although that very same Archives page has an equivalent list for Books, however, there is no "See All Books" link. Is this intentional?

This is a feature that I definitely want, and get frustrated about not having!

Books. Books. Books. *waves pitchfork listlessly*

I would love to have this feature!
The book list should be in some kind of order, though...I'd vote for LoC over Dewey for nonfiction, genre then alpha by author for fiction. Librarians! Assemble! Brush off your AACR2s and let's get to work!

Can we also move the search nearer to the top of the page please for devices? I’m willing to bet that search is overwhelmingly the primary use case for Fanfare (or would be if you could find it).

I’d be curious what page analytics reveals here. Especially if you benchmark this before and after the change, and by device type.

Oh and I support the request in this post too of course!

The links in that list of books are not always right. They all go to /show/title and if there is a movie with the same name, it goes to that post instead. Annihilation is one example and Becoming is another.

I was looking for a list of all book posts a week or so ago and ended up using the RSS feed in Feedly so I could go back to the start. Some rss readers will only give you the most recent 25 or so. The importfeed formula in Google Sheets is the same for this feed, even if you set it for 250.

This would be a good feature.

Maybe since this is an actual post instead of comments, it’ll finally happen?

(Not trying to be snotty, but at this point I’m laughing every time the question comes up)
