Apology for someone using anothers account

When someone else uses your MeFi account to post a typo-riddled, incoherent, inflammatory comment, maybe the best way to repair the damage to one's reputation is to apologize upfront.

My husband really needs to get his own account, but til now I never thought I had to worry about it. I'm embarrassed that he posted so badly under my name. Please accept my apologies.

I've been here a long time. It's never been my style to post asshole-ish comments like his, and I want to make sure people know that it wasn't me.

Once he has his own account, encourage him to establish his own identity. There's at least one poster who only shows up to support a relative's comments. Annoying as hell once you notice it (to me anyway), and maybe a little unfair in a "fake concensus" kind of way.

Wow, you're brave.

My husband and I are both mefites, but our styles are so different that I can't imagine having him post under my name, or vice-versa.

I wonder if there are other mefite couples who use the same account?

Dabitch--don't take this personally, I see it all the time:

Schizophrenia is the illness where you hear voices and perhaps see people who aren't there. It is all-too-commonly mistaken for Multiple Personality Disorder, where you have more than one distinct personality. While they sometimes appear together, they are not the same thing.

Anyway, my husband's post wasn't a divorcable offense by any stretch. But if he's going to post again I may ask him to at least let me proofread!
