Searching Metafilter: on first search, threads and users only. Thereafter, other options appear. Bug, or crap browser (IE5.5, W98)?

Aside: I also seem to remember being able to add a timeout query to the search string, but can't for the life of me remember how. And the reason I'm searching so much is to find the origin of the ubiquitous pancake reference (for adrianhon's wiki. Yes, I should know, but never bookmarked it ...

This was discussed earlier, it's basicly left from when mefi was dangerously overloading the machine it was on, so to try and curb the more expensive queries they were made slightly less accessible.
