Why did my post get deleted? November 25, 2002 11:49 PM   Subscribe

I, uh, made a fpp about 3 hours ago which eventually got deleted. Granted the cracks.am site probably shouldn't have been linked but could someone tell me what I did wrong? No need to flame, you can email me too. Thanks.

I think it's because Bangbus is fake.

The linked page was just a conspiracy theory, with no sustenance.

As y6y6y6 said in the thread
Not just bullshit, but lazy, sloppy bullshit.

Bangbus is fake? No wonder I haven't been having the same degree of success with my off duty school bus exploits! Damn internet, you can't believe anything. I heard Stan Chin isn't even Asian.

The CIA-cracks.am story linked was totally flimsy, and pointless to continue leaving it up. It was some guy doing a piss-poor job of sleuthing and getting all the facts wrong. I've seen better work from anyone here.

And remember, PWA_Badboy, that's not a reflection on you, it'd certainly be an interesting link and story if it were true, but there was nothing to back it up on the site, just some kid guessing and pissing into the wind about stuff he doesn't understand (like cognet being a major bandwidth provider and not an "imaginary" ISP).

It was taken down because:

Metafilter is part of a vast network of CIA data-logging sites. Matt is an acronym for Massive Attack. Why, the site itself is mostly white and blue. What does that tell you? (Hint: the only thing missing is RED!)

I mean, it's so obvious!

Am I the only one who notices that members keep disappearing? Pretty mysterious, I'd say - one day they're here, the next day they're gone...

...are they buried deep in a Guantanamo hole, sharing a contraband hookah with their swarthy bunkmates? Or worse yet - have they been coerced into becoming - oh, the horror - war-bloggers???

Wise up, man! The signs are all around you!

Cold Fusion instead of PHP...the tell-tale juxtaposition of grey and blue (Civil War colors)...and do you really believe a spell-check feature takes that long?

Why, the only thing missing is the Company logo...and if you take the page source code, and bring it into a sound editor as a 2Khz AIFF, and play it backwards through a vocoder algorithm, you can just make out Sonny and Cher singing "I got you, babe"...

those bangbus guys are fooling no one... it's some damn good porn, but every single one of their sub-sites has hints of fakeness... it's amazing to see how far they've come though (pun not intended).

We're being watched by the missing members. It's the only logical explanation.

Also, there are critical clues. The MeFi computer is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, near Central Park. It is within five miles (or less!) of Columbia University, a well-known bastion of Intelligence. And Manhattan is an island with many social-service Agencies. Also, I think it's somewhere near Teneth Avenue.

The conspiracy may just go deeper than you think....

Also, since you asked, the exhortation to "Talk amongst yourselves" (which is, of course, just the SNL-inspired cousin of "Discuss") is off-putting and unnecessary. I think it's implied by the nature of the site.

opus, can i have my burst transmitter back. Also, the Prussic Acid staple gun was for show-an-tell ONLY.

opus is the only member whom actually scares me and i *heart* him for that.

I tell you, that Chandler is one loopy guy. He goes "then I caught the umbrella!" and I just inhale orange juice through my nostrils! It was so painful! Then the next day I do it again!

Pain keeps me clean!

Pain is just pleasure leaving the body.

It would be rad if cracks.am was a government site, because it would prove that the government is just a bunch of awesome guys who want me not to have to pay for paint shop pro.

You kept using words like "Pasghetti" and "Momatoes" You make numerous threatening references to the UN and at the end you repeat the words "Screw Flanders" over and over again.

THAT'S why it was deleted.
