Metafilter Remixed seems to be down now. What did we learn from this experiment?http://webmutant.com/mefi/remixed.cgi

First, JohnR, it's customary to use HTML to make a link clickable. Second, it seems to be up now. Third, we learned that when 17 people try it out the same day and all vote for the same stuff, and then voting slacks off, new posts have no hope of reaching the exalted 17-vote heights (most are lucky to get a single vote). Fourth, if it doesn't get votes every day, it's no Alterslash, even if it does help point out good material. Fifth, all in all, it's still worth going back to most of the threads on there.

I learned that if it weren't for moz and plep, my post would have the most votes. But I'm not bitter.

I learned that it was a great idea to crib. I'm going to add [this is good] to metafilter threads (I already did it on the ticketstubs site, just need to copy the code over here)

I just hope there will be a user option not to see it.

there will be an inconspicuous link on comment pages that you'll have to look for or know where to find it to do the voting, so you probably won't see it unless you look.

Visualization will be off of course, by default, so you won't see any sign or results of it. If one chooses to, they can select to see how strongly rated things are in a novel way, or they can simply sort by highest rated over a time period like recent comments and most comments works.

Speaking of which, Matt, can we get a sort by recent comments in MeTa?

Excellent...sounds great, thanks!

I think this will be a good thing for metaFilter. I can't wait to see it.

Ticketstubs is cold-fusion based? Or were you referring to some generic logic?

Ticketstubs is cold-fusion based?

Yeah. I would have loved to use it to further my php knowledge and get off the microsoft/macromedia teet, but it was the only way I could finish the entire site in a few days, by using a language I was familiar with and re-using code I already had written.

I dunno, it's fairly far down on the list of things to do.

Maybe there's a twelve-step program.

Aw, nuts....

Great idea. I enjoyed the remix and think that a [this is good] button (or something like it) will be a useful thing.
