Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but I think it would be neat to have a feature that displays the number of times a page was viewed, so that those threads that are truly great yet don't elicit many responses are acknowledged. Just a thought.

Big assumption that this would represent threads that are good but in which little is commented.
The number of pageviews represents nothing other than how many people clicked in. It has no relation to quality whatsoever.
It could just as easily be an indicator of how many people clicked into the comments to try and see if they give any context or explanation to a vague link description.
