Cryptic error with some browsers

Can't login to MeFi with Phoenix or Mozilla browsers: "The value "" cannot be converted to a number"

Seems to work with IE6/Win. Now I can't see the front page either after clearing my MeFi cookies. MeTa is still working though.

ewww... yeah... i was logged in in mozilla... logged out... attempted to log back in and got that CF error after submitting my info... BUT... i tried logging in with safari (which i had never hit mefi with before) and got the same error... so the problem seems BIGGER! (typing now from chimera.. which i dare not log out with)

I deleted the offending timezone cookie and I was successfully able to login. But then the cookie gets set to "" again, yielding the CF error above.

It's still happening to me.... with IE6. Although it's happening on MY work station but not this one. Is there something I need to do?

I deleted all cookies for the site and tried again and it worked. So....

FWIW, Safari choked on the same thing. I haven't tried it since mathowie's fix.
