It's possible that someone just took out a TextAd pointed to MetaFilter itself as a way of donating to the site while at the same time making a silly self-referential joke...

I would have bought a textad a long time ago if it didn't involve Paypal. I don't need credit card billing either--I'm happy to send a check. Maybe that's still a hassle; I dunno.
