A link to an AP correction is not a good post. A kill is mandatory.

I think more corrections should be posted publically. The truth is important, isn't it?

I thought it was interesting.

Just like the deleted mefi posts.

It provides insight into how the wire and news system works and lexicons used. I thought it was interesting too. Plus it's not blog churn.

I think the only reason the link was posted was to generate a MeTa thread with that particular wording in the post.

There has been one or two posts in the past, which have stayed because I think they are interesting. I believe the others posted here were to yahoo news photos that said something to the effect of "embargo - do not run this photo" which is hilarious when you read it and see the photo and can freely share the URL.

Can someone find a way to discourage posting news stories that require log-in to read them? Hasn't his been discussed?

Not only is it not the "best of the web", it's news.

'News', like, you know, Newspaper?

Could the posting engine scan for URLs to the usual suspects requiring logins or protected archives (WaPo, NYT, LA Times, etc) and at least alert the Posters on Preview as such? Maybe even give pointers on how to find a version of the story not behind a login? Or will it just be ignored anyway?

Great idea. Probably it would require more work for you-know-who, but a fine idea nonetheless, especially the preview notification part.
