Was anyone else having any troubles with status.metafilter.com during the outage? Is that site less capable of handling the bandwidth?

nthdegx, the link you posted requires registration.

The link was to the metafilter group at flickr that Matt started during the outage. flickr is a community site in the vein of friendster or tribe - but with flash-based chat, photo-sharing etc.

Oops, I didn't read the comments carefully. See, this is what happens when I hang out at Slashdot for a week! I promise, no ASCII Goatse art, okay?

I'm the one who posted at orkut about the fan. Matt mentioned it when i asked him about metafilter when he and I were both logged on to flickr.com last week.

Flickr was launched at O'Reilly this past week and is a very cool app. Caterina, one of the developers has links to many reviews.
