Why isn't ask.metafilter.com linked to in the nav of the blue like it is in the grey ?

I'm still working on ask mefi, and when it feels more complete, I'll need to redesign how other *.metafilter.com sites are linked on the front page of mefi. The nav doesn't scale well so instead I'll probably put some small images over on the right, sort of where the textads are for each site.
I'll be adding a new *.metafilter.com site soon after ask mefi improvements are made, and I can't just keep replacing text nav items or crowding more things up there. posted by mathowie at 5:12 PM on August 25, 2004

Well looking forward to the ask improvements (although I love it as is) and newbie mefi. ask is my favorite part of mefi these days, people are actually nice to one another :) posted by zeoslap at 5:24 PM on August 25, 2004
I don't know if it's a good or bad thing to leak a detail or two. It's like a lazy saturday's worth of work to build, and when I get a lazy saturday one of these days, I'll make it. It's not something entirely new or revolutionary, just a new slot for a special type of content that everyone will likely enjoy. I won't say anything more though, it'll build it up too much and it's just this thing I've been meaning to build for the past three-four years. posted by mathowie at 5:39 PM on August 25, 2004

i'm hoping for quonsarfilter. that'd be entertaining.
for the first few minutes anyway. then it'd get too weird to follow.

I'm hoping, judging from Matt's proclivities, that it could be a place where members could discuss the very latest releases (in music, film or television). I remember him saying a simple "Spiderman" post - legitimately disputed - was understandable as it had just premiered and was obviously something people here wanted to discuss.
As long as the original posts were bang up-to-date (preferably "exclusive", with spoiler alerts, before any mainstream reviews had been published), I think it would be a great addition.

Uneducated Guess: It's either what Miguel said, or it's a classified ads kind of thing - a place for members to swap stuff, announce things, solicit massages, and pimp ourselves. posted by iconomy at 7:17 AM on August 26, 2004
I'll just know it's flaming-halberd-of-death.metafilter.com,
the massively multiplayer roleplaying game where we all get to fight, in 3-D,
because that would just be a quick saturday afternoon project, right?

How's about prayerchain.metafilter.com? I mean, how many times do we have to ask for a prayer chain around here? posted by iconomy at 8:33 AM on August 26, 2004
